Data Governance Analyst Intern

Role and Responsibilities
· Collaborate within the Data Office team to support the successful roll-out of the Group's Data Transformation Program under the guidance of the Data Governance Specialist;
· Assist in the integration of Data Governance into broader Data Management and Analytics initiatives by providing support in applying Data Governance principles throughout the Data Lifecycle;
· Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive Group-wide Data Governance Framework by helping to define and document policies, processes, procedures, roles, and responsibilities;
· Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance Data Governance processes and tools;
· Assist in building and maintaining a comprehensive Data Catalog, helping to ensure clarity on data discovery, access, metadata, lineage, and usage guidelines;
· Support the definition of performance indicators and quality metrics for Data Governance initiatives by collaborating with the Data Governance Specialist and other stakeholders;
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and support the enforcement of Data Governance policies, standards, and best practices. Participate in regular audits to assess adherence to Data Governance guidelines;
· Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and promote a collaborative approach to Data Governance;
· Assist in the training and development of data owners, stewards, custodians, and other employees on Data Governance principles, tools, and practices;
· Help foster a data-driven culture by supporting awareness initiatives about the importance of Data Governance across the organization;
· Contribute to initiatives aimed at driving organizational behavior change regarding data usage, supporting the vision of data managed as a valuable asset.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
· Recently completed higher education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Management, Economics, Business, Finance, or equivalent;
· Basic understanding of Data Governance concepts and Data Management dimensions, such as Data Quality, Metadata Management, MDM, and Data Privacy and Security;
· Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, current technologies supporting Data Governance Frameworks, such as Purview;
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels;
· Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning, particularly in Data Governance, Data Management, and industry best practices;
· Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, contributing to collective goals;
· Attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and a focus on accuracy;
· Knowledge and/or experience of SQL or Python is a plus.
